Andrew P - Week 1

Andrew P - Week 1

Andrew P - Week 1

Meet Andrew. A high schooler with dreams of playing in college. Sound familiar? We told you there are five Project Sting participants. Here's number 2. Read on...

Andrew was one of five players selected to participate in Project Sting, a 12 week program where OneResult takes, you guessed it, five players, and puts them on training, nutrition, and supplement plans. Think of it as a, 1R Proves The Plans and Supplements Actually Do Work, project. Anyways, here's a snippet of how Andrew got selected:

"... Playing the game I love in college is my dream, and I have been chasing it despite all the odds being stacked against me. I want to prove all the doubters wrong, but more importantly accomplish my personal goal that I have wholeheartedly committed myself to.... I'm going to be frank with you guys; I really hope you choose me. I spend a ton of my own money on the TrueMass product ($50 every 10 days, approximately), but I don't know if what I'm doing is right. I hope you guys have the answers for me - I certainly have the time and drive to dedicate myself to this goal. ."

How do you not select a kid after that? Right, so Andrew got us his metrics and here they are:

Height - 5'11"
Weight - 153.5 lbs
Squat - 275 lbs
Deadlift - 280 lbs
Bench - 150 lbs
Pull-Ups - 12
40 Time - tbd (yo Drew, you owe us your 40 time!)

Andrew's currently on "Weight Gain - Fast Metabolism" nutrition plan, "Intermediate Mass Lacrosse" training plan, and Get Bigger supplement package. Prior to beginning, Andrew astutely observed:

"...I was also wondering if this meal/workout plan could be started after the summer circuit, because I know myself and alot of the other guys will only be home a day or two at a time, going from event to event. Today I leave for Maryland, I'll come back Thursday, and the next day I'll leave for New Jersey. That Sunday, the day the New Jersey tournament ends, is the same day the Dartmouth camp starts. This hectic schedule continues until the end of July. I've also heard that it's not a good idea to lift heavy while you're in the season of your sport. Maybe you could give me your thoughts on that, because all I care about is staying healthy for the time being, and then getting big and strong when the opportunity arises..."

So we delayed Andrew's start a week, at which point he sent along this update:

"Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm feeling pretty good and thus I'm going to start working out tomorrow, along with taking the supplements and whatnot.... I'm ready. I'm getting too skinny!"

And then, there was this:

"I'm so sore, and I barely lifted any weight the last two days. It's definitely tough getting acclimated to a new workout plan after I've had the same routine for a while. To be honest, I haven't been able to complete all the exercises. Monday I thought I was going to throw up, and today I was sore from yesterday. But I'm definitely moving in the right direction which is the most important thing."

Awesome, personified. Andrew's asked questions about the creatine loading stage (4 times a day, 5 grams at a time, for 4 days), figuring out starting weight on all exercises in the plan (first week is a learning curve Bud... You wanna choose a weight that you'll fail on when doing the last rep of your last set of a given exercise)... Just excited for him to get going and start seeing results. Clearly driven, clearly willing to learn and try. 12 weeks and Andrew figures to be looking at better odds to beat the odds. Follow him on his journey here every week.
