Mental Toughness Competitions

I work with a high school football team and would like them to get more mentally tough during our workouts. Does anybody have any idea for competitions that we could do? Some of what we already do includes holding a bar overhead, dead hangs, and a few others.

A couple of things jump to mind (some of which you may have already tried, so forgive me for forthcoming redundancy)...

This plyo circuit is not fun (have been doing it for a couple of weeks now):

The Death by 5's isn't enjoyable either:

And finally, I'm always a fan of 100 basketball sprints (from endline to endline). That'll usually make a 1/4 of the team flirt with giving up.

Dope.

Prowler training is awesome for mental toughness competitions. We usually load the sled up with 150 pounds and have guys do 4 30-yard sprints in a row.

This video that I saw posted on the 1R twitter account shows what common side effects look like...

Doing 10 sets of 100 yard sprints isn't easy either...

Call me old fashioned, and it may be simple, but have you tried having them push a car or a truck for 10 sets of 50 yards? These types of challenges are no joke but can really bring a team together:

yes, we have done truck pulls. I like to do something new every week, so if you have any more old school ideas, let me know! Thanks!
