Starting Strength or Football Off-season Weight Gain workout?

Ok guys, well 1st off i have a bout 5 months untill my Fire Academy through my City College. What i want to do is gain hopefully 10lb in 3 months or maybe more if i can, then with around 2 months left, start running and getting in shape for it.
We test on our bench, military press, squat, push ups, pull ups, sit ups, and 3 mile run. I was wondering which program i should follow? And the reason why i chose the football gain weight program is because it has more athletic movements, which would benefit me for fighting fires.

The Starting Strength workout looks like this:

StrongLifts 5x5 Workout A StrongLifts 5x5 Workout B
Squat 5x5 Squat 5x5
Bench Press 5x5 Overhead Press 5x5
Barbell Rows 5x5 Deadlift 1x5

Each workout you try to add 5lbs to each lift or get one more rep than the last workout.

Thanks for the advice guys :)

It really depends on your strengths and weaknesses. Just as broad examples, if your barbell lifts are suffering, adding weight will help, but if its the bodyweight stuff or the running that's weak, adding extra mass will be hindrance. Tell us what specific tests you're doing (e.g., is the bench test for 1RM, max reps, timed reps, etc.?), what your performance is in each of them, and where you need to be. Also, is that an entry test that you have to pass to be admitted into the academy?
