Steve Lewis


Steve Lewis became the Strength and Conditioning at Emory University in 2003 after four years in a similar position at Central College (Iowa). During his time at Central, the school won three NCAA Division III national team titles: volleyball (1999, 2000), softball (2003). While at Emory, Lewis has helped the Eagles garner numerous National titles including women’s tennis (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006), men’s tennis (2003, 2006), women’s swimming and diving (2005, 2006, 2010) and volleyball (2008).
Outside of coaching, Lewis was the 2001 Michigan state weightlifting champion in the 94-kg class and took 4th place in the 2007 National Masters Weightlifting Championships. He also qualified and for and competed in the North American Strongman National Championships in 2002. He earned a B.S. in exercise physiology/fitness from the University of Tennessee (1995) and an M.A. in physical education with an emphasis in exercise science from Western Michigan University (1998).
